eCOMMERCE: We believe the role of e-commerce between valuation firms and financial institutions can replace and improve many aspects of the communication systems currently utilised. Specifically e-commerce can be used to order, monitor, receive and account for almost all valuation requirements.
The current communication systems that utilise telephone and facsimile technology operate on the same medium as e-commerce (telephone lines) and therefore would have little effort in reducing cycle times other than the posting of original copies via the mail system. Cost structures reflect a firms operational efficiency. This requires expenditure on technology to gain the optimal efficiency. Australian Certified Valuers have improved their technological systems over many years to maximise the firms output, therefore our cost structures are already set at a level that reflects maximum output and minimum cycle times. . The offices of Australian Certified Valuers are fully equipped and their staff are technically capable of operating within the e-commerce environment with our clients being required to be connected to the internet/e-mail services. The reporting of our valuations are in line with the API approved Property Pro format. The reports are presently faxed at the time of completion which is processed with the original via traditional mail. We are also able to email the completed valuation if required. As members of API we have full access to any and all systems utilised by that institute and we are also investigating the implementation of our own systems checking running progress of current valuations and receipt of completed valuation reports.
